HVS Leak Detection has over 30 years experience in leak detection field services.   We have worked with large companies and government facilities, providing unique solutions and leak testing protocols to meet the most demanding requirements.  Our goal is to locate your system leaks and keep downtime to a minimum.

Utilizing one of our helium leak detector mass spectrometers, we will arrive at your facility and determine which method of testing will yield the best results. Our trained technicians will quickly locate your leak. We test using helium as the tracer gas, but have the capabilities to use a hydrogen/nitrogen mix under certain conditions.

To locate a leak we may use sniff testing or spray testing. With on-site sniff testing we pressurize your pipework or component with helium. If there are any leaks, helium will escape through these paths into the atmosphere. Using a portable leak detector we sniff test each weld and joint within an assembled component of a pressurized system to check for a leak.

With spray testing, we are able to test to a higher specification than with sniff testing. We evacuate your component or pipework using a portable vacuum pump and connect it to a helium leak detector. Once an acceptable vacuum level has been reached, helium is sprayed outside of the component to check for leaks.  Helium is sprayed on the joints and if a leak is present at that site, the helium will be drawn into the pipe or component by the vacuum and sensed by the leak detector.
